Tuesday, March 07, 2023 another day of activities of the LORD project funded by the Erasmus Plus program. Jump Italian partner and host organized for partners a day at the village of Guardavalle.
During the first part of the morning we visit a special library. The spaces are tiny and cold but the atmosphere is welcoming, exciting, real. The association that runs this small place of culture initially contemplates the place as a reading space dedicated to young children. Over time at the bookstore unique connections and contaminations are created. The bookstore, the only one active in the village, becomes a weekly fixture for children and adults alike. Older children are not only passive companions but are also attracted by thematic debate proposals organized by the sponsoring association through collaboration with local experts and professionals. In short, a true meeting place for all.
During the second part of the morning, representatives of the LORD project partners, have the opportunity to visit the beautiful village of Guardavalle. A place full of history and architecture, religious places and traditions, folklore and legends. We are guided through the VINEJE (characteristic streets) of the village center among impressive arches of historic 1600s buildings and beautiful churches, among anthropomorphic masks and fascinating ruins. The first part of the day ends with a beautiful lunch of local culinary delicacies and good wine.
During the afternoon, delegations from the international partners (Portugal and Poland) were invited to participate in adult education activities organized in Soverato by volunteers from the University of the Third Age.
