Joyful

English Course

Description and main aims

Draft proposed program

Joyful English, as it says the same title, wants to be a pleasant moment to learn English and enjoy learning even learning a language can be like hiking a mountain for many people. Especially for those who feel that is an obligation and don't understand so much the need to "come back to be able to speak" using English as a second language.

Another important aspect is the "communication skills" which can be developed through learning a language and widening the perspective to a bigger and more complex world characterised today by multiculturalism and by a continuous exchange and influence by other cultures.

Joyful English expresses the spirit of the proposed program structured in short sessions and animated with non formal education and outdoor education activities.

Depending of the level of participants, the course is designed for teachers, students, school directors or adults in general with short intensive sessions lived in different contexts, indoor and outdoor, in formal learning spaces and in totally informal environments.

The core content remains the language divided in

- grammar (lexicon, phonetics and phonology, syntax and contest)

- reading

- writing

- listening

- speaking

- communicating

JUMP counts with a local context, Soverato, which offers indoor and outdoor spaces, including natural spaces, partner public schools and other working environments stimulating a "different" and more natural learning. Learning has to be a joyful experience.

Participants will be involved in workshops and group activities (Project Based Learning) facilitated by trainers, native English or with an English proficiency level, using a captivating attitude and a smart approach.

Working together and using colours, paper, didactic tools, new media and technologies the class will be an active player of the training being asked to take the leadership and be creative. The flow of the training is liquid and flexible permitting to all participants also to express themselves and share learning and teaching experiences.

Target group
Teachers can be any kind of teacher working in a public or private school or educational institutions.

Like all our programs, the present one is flexible and adaptable to special requests, depending on the subject taught or on the starting level of the participant.
Furthermore, in line with the JUMP Academy method, our courses are based on a strategic balance between formal and non-formal education, indoor and outdoor education and the team takes care of a very important aspect of international mobility which is the intercultural learning which we develop with short excursions and facilitating the interaction with local partners, especially schools of the territory.
We always try to connect our learners to local teachers and students to cooperate in developing innovation and networking for future projects. If possible, inside the program, a morning is spent inside a local school, visiting, observing, and cooperating in the realization of one or more lessons. The proposed program JUMP works, in European dimension and with an international spirit, at the local level and, according to the period of the training along the year and the weather, it is possible to change some sessions and add visits and meetings, in cooperation with our network of partners including schools involved in European projects).
